MAVS vs. Suns

Last night the Mavericks proved that this post deadline hot streak was not a fluke, beating the Phoenix Suns 123-113. Luka and Kyrie are starting to show the rest of the league and the media that they do work together. I saw something on socials the other day that said, "People say that Kyrie is Lukas Robin, but I think Kyrie is Batman and Luka is just Superman." I love this quote because either Luka or Kyrie can lead this team any night.

Kyrie continues to show that he was worth what we gave for him and more, having a stellar night and being an absolute microwave. There was a sequence this game where the team was down 7 or 8 points, and made two great defensive stops and got out in transition, and Kyrie hit pull up 3s in back-to-back possessions. Just goes to show how confident this guy is in his jumper and how crucial he can be in clutch spots.

PJ Washington continues to be the defensive anchor for this team, putting Kevin Durant in "PJail" last night. He held KD to a 9/22 night, with only 3 fouls. There were multiple possessions where PJ was switched on to Devin Booker as well and held his own against one of the best shooters in the league.

Luka continues to dominate the Phoenix Suns. The way he plays against this franchise kind of reminds me of how he played against the Clippers in the bubble and post bubble. What is refreshing to see is the teams are starting to get chippy, and not just Luka and Book. When the whole team starts to get into a battle instead of the top 2 guys respectively, it gets real entertaining.

With all of that being said, Dallas stretches their win streak to 7 games, and we start our road trip in the east at Indiana after a 2 day break.

phoenix cant stop the red hot mavs

Phoenix cam out with some defensive energy and made some quick buckets, but Luka, Kyrie and the Dallas defense stayed resilient and kept 2 of the best scorers in the league at bay.

I want to speak on Devin Booker just shortly. That guy just dominates the midrange so efficiently and I just absolutely love his game. If there was anyone in the NBA that reminds me of Kobe Bryant, its Devin Booker.

Pacers Preview

This pacers game is going to be a real test of the Mavericks new defensive look. The Pacers are first in the NBA in Points Per Game. Field Goal Percentage, and Assists. Fortunately for the Mavs, they do not play defense. If Luka and Kyrie can keep their hands hot, and the team continue to play good D, this can become 8 straight.
